Whole Food vs. synthetic vitamins

Natural Vitamins May Be Superior to Synthetic Ones

Traditional Foods Are Your Best Medicine, Ronald F. Schmid, N.D., 1987, Chapter 21, pgs. 194-195

"Among the exceptions are the products of innovative companies such as [Pure Synergy]. Their vitamin and mineral supplements are whole-food concentrates that are grown with single-celled plants. Vitamins and minerals are fed to these plants in a liquid broth, producing unrefined, whole-protein complexes. Digestive enzymes are added. After a drying process, the whole-food concentrates are made into tablets.

Supplements produced in this manner have been demonstrated in animal studies to be up to sixteen times better absorbed than conventionally produced 'natural' vitamins and minerals. Spectrographic studies indicate that the vitamins and minerals are integrated into the structure of the plants with which they are grown. Such whole-food concentrates are natural, whole, and unrefined. They are nutrient-rich, well absorbed, easily digestible for most people, and are in my opinion the finest food supplements available. I will refer to the supplements as 'food vitamins.'"
